This just in… our very own superhero is officially cancer-free! Ms. Follen, our office manager found out last year that she had ovarian cancer. When she found out she had cancer, she was scared, especially scared for her family. We asked her on a scale of 1-10 how scared she was and she said "11!".
While she had cancer, she learned it is important to enjoy the moment. She felt very sick but after many rounds of treatment, she was glad to find out she was cancer-free and then went out and had sushi.
Before Ms. Follen came to Coolidge, she was a police officer. We asked her if she liked being the school secretary and she said, “very much”. Ms. Follen has worked at Coolidge for about 12 years, and loves working around a lot of people. She loves the students and staff, but thinks the teachers are definitely harder to deal with. When asked what the hardest part of the day was, she said it was trying to get something done without any distractions.
We are very happy to report that Ms. Follen hopes to stay here at Coolidge with us until she is 65 years old!
